Who we are

We are a scientific consultancy working to identify and, when possible, reverse the impacts caused by [over]use of pesticides, machinery and others. We develop tailor-made solutions, with a group of scientists and professionals from different areas of knowledge, that are connected directly or indirectly with the problem.

We are proud to be a global team working together, by demand, to improve knowledge on different fields of soil science, such as soil biodiversity, soil ecotoxicology and sustainable farming.

Lima Consultancy counts on the support of different stakeholders, acting as a sounding board for the strategic decisions of the consultancy.  We are committed to providing high-quality services, tailored to the needs of our clients and partners, and that contribute to the preservation and restoration of soil health and ecosystem services.

Some of the services we offer:

  • Diagnostics and solutions on pesticide reduction,
  • IPM tailor made practices,
  • Data analysis derived from OECD guidelines and other ecotoxicology tests; soil analysis (pesticides, texture, other parameters); taxonomic identification for soil invertebrates.
  • Modelling data; predictive scenarios; and others
  • Training: ecotoxicology tests; statistics; soil sampling; IPM; pesticide reduction; project writing and coordination
  • Webinars: aimed at starting, improving, or broadening discussion on topics related to soil health, soil biodiversity, IPM and sustainable agriculture and others.

What is soil ecotoxicology and why it is important for biodiversity and sustainable agriculture?

Soil ecotoxicology studies the effects of chemical substances and other stressors on soil organisms, soil functions and ecosystem services. It aims to enable protection of the soil compartment by predicting and assessing the risk of contamination in the environment, by developing and performing tests in the laboratory. Some of the endpoints analyzed are adult survival and reproduction. With the evolution of this field, other indicators were adjusted for risk assessment, such as provision of ecosystem services, modelling, agricultural landscape analysis, local biodiversity, food web. Another aspect of the evolution of the field is the inclusion of modelling to help predict different scenarios.

mission

Building bridges among scientists, government bodies, and industry, across different fields of science to foster the design of projects, trainings and data analysis that support soil biodiversity in agricultural landscapes.

vision

We aspire to create a network of knowledge on soil science, with a focus on soil biodiversity, soil ecotoxicology and sustainable farming. We strive to become one of the leading consultancies on these topics, offering high-quality services and solutions. We aim to work globally, with a diverse and inclusive team of experts and partners.

We are associated with different stakeholders, to synergise our actions, following our motto: “Together we are stronger”.
