Training Courses

The development of training courses within Lima Consultancy is aimed at the needs of the client. It can either be a summer course to improve the abilities of a Bachelor, Master or PhD group of students in one of the topics we work with. It could be the development of a course for a group of farmers. Or also, it can be a training course for the development of citizen scientists.

Training is important to keep you updated with the innovations in the field, to increase knowledge, to build critical thinking and questioning, to enable societal growth and development.

Training society in topics related to science is important for several reasons, which are highlighted by various web sources and articles.

Here are some key points on the importance of training society in science:

Developing Scientific Literacy: Training society in science helps individuals develop scientific literacy, which is the ability to understand scientific concepts and processes, and to apply evidence-based knowledge to a wide range of issues that require individual and collective action, such as public health crises and environmental challenges.
Enhancing Curiosity and Inquiry: Science training fosters curiosity, wonder, and questioning. It builds on the natural inclination to seek meaning and understanding of the world. Inquiry-based science education, in particular, encourages students and adults to engage in scientific inquiry as an activity that everyone, including themselves, can carry out.
Preparing for the Knowledge Society: In the knowledge society, where science is a core driver of societal development, science communication is crucial for economic growth, societal welfare, and political decision-making. Training in science communication is becoming increasingly important due to the emergence of digital communication platforms, presenting new opportunities and challenges.
Building Critical Thinking Skills: Practical work in science education allows students and adults to gain understanding and skills that enable them to work as scientists and develop critical thinking skills. This helps them become confident, independent learners who can tackle complex problems.
Addressing the Role of Digital Transformation: Science communication education and training are rethinking their approaches to incorporate digital transformation within their curricula. This involves preparing science communicators to engage with multiple audiences across various channels, emphasizing the need for a competence model for science communication.
